“A picture is worth a thousand words.”

I want to talk about Old Prague this city of a hundred towers is like going through a collection of antiquities, in which the spectator finds himself at every step in communion with another age. Of the various designations which have been employed to give expression to the beauties of this ancient city none is more apt than that which I have just used–” die hunderttürmige-Stadt”– the city of a hundred towers. For let anyone take up a position where he can obtain a bird’s-eye view of it, he will not fail to find a vast amount of pleasure in contemplating the multitudinous towers within the range of his vision –towers of all sorts of shapes and sizes, rising high above the tops of surrounding houses. The art of eight centuries has imparted to them a quite delightful charm. Time and weather-worn remains of ruined battlements lie on the rocky slopes of the Vysehrad, whose uncomely walls represent all that remains of structures that arose more than nine hundred years ago. While the city at large possesses more or less numerous and interesting survivals of the great past, it is to two of its divisions that one more particularly looks for features especially attractive to the artist–the so-called “Klein-seite” or Little Prague, with its great and proud associations, and the “Altstadt” or Old Town, whose close proximity to the Jewish quarter testifies to the congested state of the population in this part. It was during the reign of the Emperor Charles IV., in the fourteenth century, that the capital of Bohemia reached its greatest glory–its golden age as regards art.

Old people are the people that need the most our help we must take care of them because they feel happy when we do that, also if we stay with them,it is very useful for us because they sayins jokes and a lot of stories from their younger ages so that make us smile and learn.

Even, old people saying details about the jobs they had and experiences of their life and it can help to our life.

I believe that if they need a help such as a feed or to help them to go to a hospital we ought to do that.

It is very important to listen and help old people because the years are gone so that we can do a lot of things that old people said us to help and make our life better and if we will touch their ages we would like to have younger people to listen and help us!

Jesus said to us true and say that science doesn’t start from scratch, neither does knowledge, we learn from the people before us, we read about them, and learn from them, so the same can be said about old people.

It is true what they say, pictures says a thousand words, but an old pictures says a thousand words that have long been forgotten. They reveal history at its best better than you and me, better than anyone, and everyone. An old picture is a gateway to that moment of time it was taken in, it might show you how people were living and their traditions and customs. Old pictures like old things have grace; a sense of their own, it has so much life in it, so much to tell you, and so much to share. Their essence flows into your minds triggering various feelings and emotions, whether of despair, of joy, of love, hate, it simply leaves your speechless, admiring its beauty, regardless of contents.

Old photos have such a beauty to them, the worn out feeling gives it warmth, gives it a core, gives it a heart, and artists have realized that and are trying to recreate the feeling, but nothing works best like time, it is when you let nature take its course and wash away the colors, and stain it here and there, burn it here and there, torn out edges, and even parts, the core will still remain somewhat intact, it is because it’s a declaration of the great battle and the great suffering the photo has survived, it has stood the test of time. A picture stops the moment from running away, it saves it forever, helps you recollect each second that was lived before or after or even during the moment it was taken, through the use of your memory or perhaps your own imagination.
To conclude all of what I have said, I would like to share with you some quotes I have discovered while rummaging on the internet, I believed those should help get the point clearly and beautifully:

“Faded, ragged, torn or dusty pictures means someone cared enough to hold onto them……”
Author: Kirbyquotes

“”A picture is the expression of an impression. If the beautiful were not in us, how would we ever recognize it?”"
Author: Ernst Haas

Photographs capture a moment in time.

Often times people have older photographs( using old photos editing techniques ) in albums or frames that become damaged by the sun or wear and tear. It is easy to restore these cherished photographs thanks to the technology available through the computer and photo editing software, including Adobe Photoshop. Photos are generally regarded as “factual,” as opposed to a drawing or painting, which would be the artist’s interpretation.

Photos tend to be trusted more, because they accurately depict what was in front of the camera at the moment the picture was taken.

At least, photographs are supposed to be accurate.

How easy is it to edit a photo so that it shows something different than what really happened?

The concept of photo editing is almost as old as photography itself.
The first photographic images were recorded in the 1820s, and one of the first widely known edited photos was a portrait of Abraham Lincoln.

Even an action as simple and innocent as cropping the picture can be controversial.

Imagine a scene of the wreckage left by a tornado.

If the photographer cropped out all of the damage, and focused instead on a single building that somehow survived, it would appear that the tornado hadn’t damaged very much at all.

In today’s world of digital photography, some photo editing is necessary on nearly every picture.

Digital cameras have to “guess” at the proper color, contrast, and shading of the pictures they take, and proper use of photo editing tools can correct or even enhance the camera’s guesswork.

At the same time, digital photographers must keep in mind that photography–especially journalistic photography–is meant to be a record of a moment in time, and not an artistic recreation of what the photographer wants his audience to see.

While editing photographs has become quicker and easier, the temptation to alter the photographs has risen as well.

While doctors and engineers were pointed at as the richest community, sportsmen swiftly proved that medicine and inventions are now levelled by the proficiency of sports, in terms of money earning methods.

For instance, Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan or Lebron James and Ramirez (NFL), are definitely beyond the reach of any doctor’s earning.

While offering the biggest pay checks and best salaries, it was expected that marketing and advertizing will definitely take advantage of sports events such as the FIFA World Cup or the Olympics in order to thrash the world with various types of commercials and announces.

Let’s take a look at Bwin (bet and win), the online betting site, that is currently sponsoring the football teams of AC Milan and Real Madrid; the strategy of Bwin, is clearly to expand by hooking theirselves to the most fanatic teams, and definitely most reputable for their achievements.

Honestly, all what counts is the fan-base size and other football statistics conducted with football fans.

why is Poker banned in the land of the free?!
This issue has led several sports news and actual newspapers to post articles and opinions about unsatisfied citizens that compared the land of the free to the nazi regime that elderly ruled Germany and a big part of the world throughout the World War 2.

Legislative decisions stood behing then ban of online poker online gaming in the states after several cases of money laundry, illegal money transfers and most of all, money theft.

This legislation did not simply affect the poker fans, but urged the e-money payment methods to cut off several services oriented towards the USA but not as the French poker en ligne. In other terms, websites were also obliged to transfer all the American poker fans towards another website or plainly blocking them.
